Being established in this business since 1998, taking several different responsabilities on a vast number of shows , on areas such as stage management, show prodution and promotion, technical direction, sound engineering, road management and many other departments, Stage Center Blog became a way for me to share with the new and older folks in this area, my experiences on almost everything show related.
Show business is an amazing world. When you’re one of the guys on the road handling other people’s entertainment, you come up with all kind of situations, usually not available to the audience eyes. You live what some only dream about and some take as a routine living.
You are always in touch with entertainment, music, hi-tech, different cultures, different people on different locations with all it’s glories and all it’s faults.
You spend a lot of time travelling, most of the times without having enough time to come to know your surroundings. Some other times, you have some days resting on a paradise somewhere you never thought about visiting in the first place.
Sometimes, you have 18 hours work days and some other times, you may have full weeks without a job.
Sometimes you sleep where you can, when the work allows you to, and some other times you enjoy one of the finest hotels near the beach with a pool next to your room (wish this would happen more often).
Everyday is a surprise. It may either be a pleasant or a dreadful one.
But, it’s because all of this that some like me, absolutely love this living and couldn’t see our lives any other way.
In a world and time of free and easy access to virtually any kind of information, we try to lift the veil over what goes on, on those hidden areas to the shows audience and place some view over the ones that remain anonymous working for the audience enjoyment.
If you have stories, fails, wins, gags, pics, videos that fit the show world or if you can think of anything more technical worth sharing with other road crews and staff, this is the place for you.
My experiences and research always find a way to become part of this blog, by reporting some of my work, promoting some events I work on and by sharing some of those facts and answers that come across our minds on this line of work.
I invite you to join me, participating with anything you can think about that might suit the Stage Center Blog, for what is worth.
Hope you enjoy your visit and please, do drop me a word here.
